More on Bridgette
Partners for Care was founded in 2007 by Connie Cheren, an Alpharetta nurse and social worker. Her desire was to eradicate unnecessary sickness and death due to preventable diseases, such as malaria and water borne illnesses. With this in mind, she formed Partners for Care, whose primary goal has been to lift up those in abject poverty and partner with them to create sustainable solutions and decrease dependency.
Since the inception of Partners For Care in 2007, over 500,000 people have been reached with the message of HIV/AIDS prevention, 31, 678 patients have been seen in free PFC medical camps and clinics, 25,000 water backpacks have been distributed for safe water transport and storage. In addition, almost 10,000 bed nets have been distributed for protection against malaria, over 7000 people have accepted Christ, and over 700 students have been educated through PFC computer schools and literacy programs.
Bridgette has served on the Partners For Care Board of Directors here in Atlanta for over 3 years. She spends approximately one month out of every year serving on the ground in East Africa, 8, 000 miles away. She has witnessed the profound difference in the lives of so many and continues to go back to passionately serve others less fortunate .
Perhaps, Connie Cheren of Partners For Care said it best:
"Passion. Committed. Dedicated ~ These are just a few of the words that describe Bridgette. Seven years ago Bridgette went to Kenya and God laid on her heart a passion to help alleviate the intense poverty she witnessed. From that first trip, Bridgette has been using her talents and gifts to make a difference for thousands. As the Founder and President of Partners for Care, I have had the privilege of witnessing Bridgette carry out her mission of helping those she cares for. I have traveled with her to Kenya on her yearly trips and seen firsthand how she loves and cares for those in need. Bridgette not only helps those in Kenya but she helps everyone she knows who is in need. Bridgette inspires me and many others to serve locally and globally".
